JT Irtstonc VOL. 1. NO. 1 GASTONIA, NORTH CAROLINA JUNE, 1988 PLANT MANAGER'S MESSAGEE By: J. Anemd The visit by Bridgestone technical personnel on June 2nd and 3rd went off very well. There was a good exchange of information and ideas. Another visit by senior technical management of Bridgestone is scheduled for July l^th. During the past few weeks, right after we celebrated 2 million work hours without a lost time injury, we had two lost time injuries. I am glad to see that both employees are back to work and feeling much better. Let us learn from these accidents and be ever more careful in the performance of our jobs, keeping safety foremost in our minds. Negotiations with the union are tentatively scheduled to start on July 26th. Vacation shutdown for the week of July 4th is fast approaching. I hope all of you have a very safe and enjoyable vacation and return to work in good health.
